Truth or Dare with Michaela Rhua

Who doesn't like a good game of truth or dare? Well, today I've got Michaela Rhua here to chat about her F/F Contemporary Romance, Truth or Dare.

Welcome Michaela! Before we get started, can you tell me a little about yourself?
I live in the UK and I am a wife to a busy husband and mother to teenage children. I grew up with books being my escape, and discovered many places to go whilst reading. Writing did feature early in my life but never really went anywhere at all until I became involved with a group called UCW who have a blog called The Nuthouse Scribblers.
What do you do when you are not writing?
My family keep me busy so I am 'Mum's taxi service' often. But I try to read as much as I can or stare at the TV when my brain feels dead!
Do you have a day job as well?
I do indeed, top secret it is too! (winks)
When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?
I started dipping my adult toes about 18 months ago. My first book was part of an anthology called The Eclipse of the Blood Moon, published by Evernight Publishing. My story is called Gyspy Butterfly.
How did you choose the genre you write in?
I do enjoy paranormal. It allows me to create worlds and characters that you would not see in real life.
However, I enjoy dipping into other genres to see if I can create a good story. I cannot say that I am a certain genre writer yet. So I am exploring.
Where do you get your ideas?
From all around. Hearing conversations as I travel into work or seeing an image can inspire a story.
What sparked the idea for your novel?
Originally I wrote this story as a short story in an anthology of FF stories, but it was not successful so I left it. Then I looked at it again and decided that this could be a longer story, which may make it more complete. That is what I did.
What is your favorite part of the book?
The ending when all both girls get a chance to explain what has been going on and actually reveal how they feel.
What was your life like before becoming an author?
Boring!
How personal is your writing?
I suppose all writing has elements of the writer in it. But my writing is not autobiographical!
What is your writing routine?
I don't have one really! I try to grab what time I can. I wish I did have a routine!
Which comes first: The character's story or the idea for the novel?
Depends. For this one it was characters. I knew who they were and had to work out how to get them together! For Guardian Awakening, another recent release it was the story I think.
What advice do you have for someone who would like to become a published author?
Raven McAllan said 'Write as you can, not as you think you should.'
Really just be you, do not try to emulate someone else's style and read, read and read some more. Get involved with a good crit group who can push, pull and drag you in the right direction.
Do you ever experience writer’s block?
Hell yes!
Do you work with an outline, or just write?
Both. There are times I know where the story is going to go, like this book, Truth or Dare, but others where I just write, like Guardian Awakening.
Can you tell me about your challenges in getting your first book published?
Just getting a YES! It is disheartening getting a No. But a Revise and Resubmit is great, especially if there is guidance as to what to change or develop.
If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?
Getting a faster YES because I had written such an awesome book!
Have you written a book you love that you have not been able to get published?
Interesting question…so far no. All my stories have been accepted eventually.
What are you working on now?
I have the second book in the Guardians series as a wip. I have started two others; an FF paranormal and a contemporary one. Both have just started with me typing away. So we will see what happens.
Can you tell us about your book?
Truth or Dare is about two girls who have been friends since college days. Both are lesbians but have never had a relationship with each other. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens.
Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
Imagination.
How did you come up with the title?
Their story starts with a dare and the truth comes out at the end so the title fitted.
Will you have a new book coming out soon?
I hope so! Fingers crossed.
Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with?
I want to try to dip into different genres and see how they feel, so I would like to explore all avenues at the moment.
Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Constructive feedback is a great thing. Hearing about the types of stories readers want is great. Actually just hearing from readers is good.
Where do you find the most inspiration to write?
In bed.
Hahaha, I'd ask more on that, but I'll leave that up to your readers' imaginations. Have you ever gone out in public with your shirt on backwards, or your slippers on, and when realizing it, just said screw it?
Err no not really!
Are you a person who makes their bed in the morning, or do you not see much point?
If I am in a hurry then no, I just pull the covers back and leave them there. Otherwise, yes I do tidy the bed.
Be honest, how often do you wash your hair?
Twice a week.
Do you get road rage? What pisses you off the most about other drivers?
Yes I do only when others are rude and cut you up or do a dangerous move.

Here is the blurb for you all to give you a flavour.
Leah and Jess have been friends for years, and having set up business together, they are even more aware of the need to keep things strictly professional. However all that changes after one drunken dare leads them to discover unbelievable passion. Who knew when friends become lovers the result would be so explosive and life altering, even if things seem different in the cold light of day. Can two friends face the truth and find happiness or was it a dare too far?
Ready for a little taste?
Leah sat shocked as Jess threw herself into an impromptu sexy routine. She began with seductive hip swinging. She threw her head down in front of Leah, and then quickly back so her golden locks fell messily around her face. Oh hell, she looked so hot.
Next came a slow unbuttoning of her shirt and Jess took her time in revealing a purple lace bra holding those full breasts in place.
Leah took a gulp of wine not believing her eyes.
Jess grabbed her breasts and squeezed them together as the song continued with its sensual lyrics.
Leah licked her lips, wanting to lick those fulsome breasts.
Jess took hold of the chair nearest to Leah. Standing on it, she began to unbuckle her belt, which she threw dramatically across the bar.
Leah's mouth went dry at the vision of pure sex on legs in front of her. Moisture leaked from her pussy, wetting her panties. She leaned forward in her chair. The movement created friction against her pussy. The vision before her combined with the spinning light, sensual music, and the friction of the chair was driving her to the brink of orgasm.
Jess grabbed her crotch and rubbed the area, biting her lip and closing her eyes. She began to unzip her jeans slowly, not taking her eyes off Leah.
That eye-to-eye contact sent shivers of arousal through Leah, but the combination of actions caused the sexy blonde bombshell to lose her balance. Suddenly Leah saw Jess tumble. She shot out of her seat, but she was too late to catch Jess, who hit the floor.
"Oh my God. Are you okay, Jess?" Leah looked down at her friend, who lay with eyes closed and body motionless. Panic rising inside her, she looked round to see where her phone was to call an ambulance.
Suddenly the other woman erupted into a fit of giggles, much to Leah's relief.
"Seriously, Jess, I thought you hit your head or something!"  Leah moaned, letting relief wash over her now that she realized her friend wasn’t hurt. Her heartbeat was just returning to normal.
Jess held out her hand to Leah. Their fingers meshed together and Jess pull her down to the floor.
As blue eyes held her own, Leah knew her breathing had become uneven. Was this the dream she had longed to come true for so long? The club was silent. The track had finished. The disco lights spun, a shower of multi-colored lights creating a magical space around them.
Leah lowered her head down. It was a now or never moment. She looked at her friend with her halo of golden hair spread around her. She looked like an angel on the midnight floor.
Jess' eyes softened the closer she got. Leah's lips hovered over hers. She licked them slowly before kissing Jess passionately. She felt Jess' hands in her hair, holding their lips together. She wants this as much as I do. Leah stroked Jess' hair while her other hand went to her breast, squeezing and massaging.
Jess spread her legs under Leah and wrapped them around her, drawing her closer.
Leah ground her hips into Jess, enjoying the friction. She pinched a nipple, eliciting a groan from the woman beneath her. She moved from her lips to her neck, licking and biting the delicate skin down to her breasts. She sucked the hardened nipple though the lace and Jess' moans became louder, her hands holding the back of Leah's head to her breast.
Leah took her time enjoying the body she had longed to make love to. Her pussy was wet, but she wanted to focus on Jess' needs not her own. She went from one nipple to the other before pulling the bra up to reveal full breasts with pink, wet nipples. She squeezed the breasts together, drawing both nipples into the center, then licked a trail from one to another.
Jess squirmed under her, gasping with each lick.
Leah kissed down her flat stomach to her hips. Her zipper was halfway down so Leah unzipped it completely, revealing matching lace undies. She pulled at the jeans.
Jess sat up a little to help ease them off, removing her shirt and bra at the same time.
She lay down and Leah drank in the sight of her creamy skin, pink in places where she had sucked or gently bitten. She buried her head between Jess' legs, and she found the lace was wet with the other woman's juices. Leah sucked her clit through the lace, enjoying the taste of her.
